History Lives at Veterans Museum and Learning Center

Museum's collection begins with the Revolutionary War and leads to present day.

The West Haven Veterans Museum and Learning Center features an extensive collection of military memorabilia and artifacts dating as far back as the Revolutionary War, and leading to present day.

The center, which opened late last year, has a room dedicated to the New Haven Grays, Connecticut's oldest military company formed in 1816 and whose commander General Samuel Merwin went on to found Grace Hospital, which is now part of Yale-New Haven Hospital.

U.S. Army Guard and Army Reserve Veteran Fred Horn, West Haven Veterans Museum historian, led VFW Devon Post 7788 Commander-elect Robert Paddock, of Milford, a retired U.S. Commissioned Navy Chief, on a tour of the facility on Wednesday.
