Film Screening to Benefit Young Leader's Society

Innovative fundraiser scheduled for The Shadow Room in December.

Connecticut filmmaker Paul Marcarelli, best known as Verizon’s Can You Hear Me Now? guy will take part in a Q&A following a special screening at The Shadow Room to celebrate the DVD release of his award-winning film The Green. The event will benefit United Way’s Young Leaders Society.

Shot entirely in Connecticut, The Green, which the San Francisco Chronicle called, “A thoughtful and sophisticated film about life in a post-marriage-equality world…” is a suspenseful drama about a gay Connecticut teacher accused of sexual impropriety with a student.

Date: Friday, December 9, 2011

Time: 7 p.m. Red Carpet and Cocktail reception; 8 p.m. Screening with Q&A and Party immediately following.  (The film is 90 minutes in length.)

Location: The Shadow Room, 170 Main Street, Middletown

Who: Free event open to the public 21+ (cocktail party attire suggested)

Winner of the 2011 Best Feature Film award from The Connecticut Film Festival, as well as the Audience Award for Best Film at OutfilmCT and more than a dozen other festival awards across the country, The Green is now available in 55 million homes nationwide through VOD platforms and is now available where you buy and rent DVDs.
