Register now for ARTFARM's Shakespeare Acting Laboratory: Scene Study

For the second year in a row, ARTFARM's Artistic Director Marcella Trowbridge will be offering a Shakespeare Acting Laboratory for Adults. This year's class will focus on Scene Study -- working in pairs and trios to prepare and perform scenes from Shakespeare's plays.
The Lab starts on Wednesday, January 22, 7 - 9:30 pm, and will continue on Wednesdays through March 12. The course is intended for people over 18 with some acting experience and a desire to grow and challenge themselves as actors in a rigorous, small-group setting.
Marcella is a noted performer of Shakespeare (seen locally in Shakespeare in the Grove productions as Hermia, Lady Macbeth, Beatrice and Katherine), director (Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet...), and an acting coach with an uncanny ability to help actors understand and interpret Shakespeare effectively. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies of Shakespeare's verse and language, as well as acquire methods for using the text as a key to emotional accessibility.
The course will culminate in a public share of scenes from Shakespeare. Members of the Shakespeare Acting Laboratory will be welcome to audition for this summer's Shakespeare in the Grove production of King Lear. Auditions will be held March 6 and 7.
For more info go to www.art-farm.org, or contact info@art-farm.org. Tuition for the eight week Shakespeare Acting Laboratory is $250; enrollment is limited to 12.
