Motorcycle Mania 2011: A Rockin' Good Time for Middletown [With Video]

OK, I am late in the presentation of this video. But the one thing that's unique about it is I used music from a local band here in Connecticut.

With fantastic weather for a day out on a bike, Middletown's Motorcycle Mania proved to be another success. There is nearly not enough time to see all the bikes. They all roll in at 5 and around 8 p.m. start packing up. Trikes, side cars, mini bikes, and even one with a Chevy V8 for a motor.

Of local restaurants selling snacks on the sidewalks, Hair of the Dog's roast beef sandwich is most notable.

One thing I appreciate about these events, and you will see in the video, is the people that show up to mingle. You will see familiar faces like Mayor Giuliano (it was his birthday), Dan Drew, Ed McKeon and Chris Bourne I heard was there but didn't see her.

Town events give everyone opportunities to talk with local leaders as "friends and family" of a community. We may be a part of different parties and have different views, but we all have the same goal — and that's to improve and grow the prosperity of Middletown.

I have a gripe that this isn't held on a weekend. But part of the purpose is to busy up a weekday that is usually tame. We didn't get fireworks this year, but when Middletown does things like these, I feel it's much more beneficial to our town.  And it costs A LOT less.

One last thing. I want to thank Mike at the Coffeehouse Recording Studio and the local band the Fluid Boys for permitting me to use their music.
