Michael Meyer, Senior Vice President/Partner NMLS# 117875

Hello I am Michael with Northeast Financial.  I started playing rugby in college at SCSU where I played for 4 years and then was the SCSU assistant coach for 1 season after college.  Over the summers during college I played with the Connecticut Yankees down in Fairfield in their summer tournaments. After college I played for 2 seasons with Old Black in New Haven until I moved out to Ohio where I became the head coach of the Women’s Rugby club at Ashland University for 2 years.  Upon coming back to Connecticut I rejoined Old Black for an additional 2 seasons until I hung up my cleats.  Hanging up my cleats did not last very long though and when I turned 35 I joined the Connecticut Grey where I have been a part of the club since 2007.  In 2010, I became the head coach of Mitchell College (a start up program) in New London, CT and have been coaching there ever since (which means my playing time with the Grey is not as much as it once was).

I am a Front Rower – primarily a Hooker (why play anything else?).  My two greatest honors playing the game were when I was named Captain of the SCSU Rugby Dynasty (yes all SCSU Rugby Alums call it a Dynasty) from 1992-1994 and when I made MVP of the forwards for the Connecticut Grey in 2008.  My two greatest moments coaching have been to take home the collegiate trophy at the NY 7s tourney in 2012 and have our first alumni game for Mitchell in 2014 (which is a satisfying event when your club is only 4 years old).

I would like the opportunity to do business with you and help you get your loan closed.  I can assist you with commercial or residential loans for either a purchase or a refinance. Please call or email me today if I can be of any assistance 860-788-7237 or mike@northeast-mortgage.com.

Christopher Adams, Vice President of Commercial Mortgages

Hello I am Chris Adams from Northeast Financial; I have been a fan and friends with people that played rugby since my college years in 1992. This has continued to grow from being a spectator to a player. My first game was a 7s tournament match when I was 22 playing for New Haven Old Black with my best friend Mike Meyer. Recently I played in a mixer with the Connecticut Grey and Mitchell College Rugby and this blossomed to me coming down to Mitchell Rugby games and now willing to begin assistant coaching them in the fall of 2014.

The Greatest Moment in Rugby: Although the social gatherings after the games have been a favorite – it was that my first game was with my best friend – Mike Meyer, a game in which I had very little idea in what I was doing but enjoyable all the same.

To put this all together, I was introduced to a new experience that grew and now I look forward to pay it forward to this community that took me in and made it an amazing experience.

How will I cater to the rugby community: Having played rugby ever so briefly, I truly feel the bond in the rugby community. I am here to help you if you have any commercial mortgage questions or needs.  I specialize in Mixed Use properties, Hotels, Retail properties, Apartments, and Multi-family Loans.  Call me at 860-788-7237 or email me at cadams@northeast-mortgage.com .

Steven Spiridigliozzi, Senior Commercial Mortgage Loan Officer

Hello I am Steven Spiridigliozzi with Northeast Financial. I started playing rugby at Mitchell College in which I was a co-founder. I started my rugby career playing loose-head prop, however, as the seasons went on I went on to play many different rolls from prop to Fly-half and was the kicker for a few seasons. I have also served many roles on the board for the club.  I started as treasurer and as a sophomore I took over the role as president and captain. I never thought this game, these players, and all the people involved could make such an impact on my life, but if you have played the game you already know it is impossible for you not to be a part of the family.

One of my greatest accomplishments during my college rugby career was co-founding a rugby club that grew from five guys tossing a ball around to having a full squad and season with a killer 7’s team. My other highlight was receiving a Select Side Honor nominated by the Connecticut Grey for Connecticut collegiate rugby players. Lastly, having a club (that I started) give back so much to the community and be there for one another when life throws you a curve ball is a dear and proud accomplishment for me to be a part of.

Presently I am one of the co-founders of MOB Rugby (where I serve as president) and jumping in every match I can that time allows.  A good portion of my time is spent as a commercial loan officer where I want to help you with either your purchase or refinance (we specialize in getting you out of balloon notes and into a lower rate) your commercial property.  Call me today at 860-788-7237 or email me at steve@northeast-mortgage.com .

Andrew Burke, Commercial Loan Officer

Hello I am Andrew Burke with Northeast Financial. Rugby has had a big impact on my life for the last five years I was apart of the founding team along with some of my friends at Mitchell College. During my four years of playing in college I have played just about every position.  Our team went threw a lot of ups and downs threw our growing process but collectively we all stuck with it and were one of the more competitive teams in our league, we were strong in 15s but champions in 7s where I lead as captain.  We went on to win in the New Yorks 7s tournament fall of 2012.

One of the most life changing experiences happened because of rugby and that was an injury that I got in the last 7s tournament of my college rugby career.  From the injury I almost lost my leg, and nearly my life, because of Compartment Syndrome in my right thigh. Going threw 5 surgeries, 2 blood transfusions and 1 plasma transfusion in just 7 days my family/friends/teammates were by my side.  I realized during this time that my teammates were more than just teammates – they were family – and it was more then just a game we played together but a life style.

After college I continued to keep my self involved with rugby by helping coach and fill in sometimes at events that the Mitchell College team hosted. I continue to want to be a part of the rugby community not just on the field but in my profession – helping fellow ruggers with commercial mortgages, refinances and new home purchases as a Loan Officer. I am presently studying for my National Exam and look forward after I pass to helping you with your home loan needs.  Until then my focus is in commercial mortgage lending (Apartments, Mixed Use, and Investment Properties). Feel free to contact me at 860-788-7237 or aburke@northeast-mortgage.com .

Dennis “Bubba” Gollareny, Commercial Loan Officer

Hello, I am Dennis (please call me Bubba) and began playing rugby in college at Central Connecticut State University (1987-1989).  Throughout my career I have primarily played 8 man, Flanker, and 2nd Row.  Although like all ruggers that have played as long as I have, I have played Prop, Hooker, Center, and Full Back when needed.  After college I began playing for the California Rebels from 1989-1991, Hartford Wanderers from 1991-1998, New Haven Old Black from 1998-2005, and then the Connecticut Grey from 2007 to the present.  From time to time I help out with Mitchell College Rugby by coaching their forwards.

My greatest moments in rugby first off was in 1998 while playing for the California Rebels.  I did an 8 man pick and scored a 98 meter Tri to win the game and win the Wild West Rugby Fest in Nevada.  My second greatest moment was winning MVP of the NYC 7s tournament while playing with Central Connecticut.

I am presently studying for my NMLS residential loan officer exam and will have that completed shortly.  As of now I am doing commercial mortgage loans at Northeast-Financial and specialize in Mixed Use, Apartment Financing, and Investment Properties.  I would like to help you with your loan.  Please contact me today for a free consultation at 860-788-7237 or email me at DBG@northeast-mortgage.com.

Jack Connolly, Residential Loan Officer NMLS# 537173

I’ve been involved with rugby at the high school level since 1995.  Over the years I’ve been a manager and coach for Fairfield Prep’s rugby program, started the Connecticut High School Rugby Championship and been an inaugural member of Rugby CT, Connecticut’s state based rugby organization.

My fondest memory, among many, was Fairfield Prep’s plate win against Xavier in the 2004 Cherry Blossom Tournament in Washington DC.  Tied at the end of regulation, Xavier won the toss but was unable to take possession of the kickoff.  Prep stole the kick and promptly pushed down the field to score the winning try.

I would like very much to help anyone in the Connecticut Rugby Community with their home loan.  I cover the whole state of Connecticut and specialize in Conventional Mortgages, FHA, USDA, VA, and CHFA loans.  I would like to help you with your refinance or purchase loans.  Please call me at 860-788-7237 or email me at Connolly@northeast-mortgage.com .

Stephanie Smith, Residential Loan Officer NMLS# 1083107

Hello everyone, I am Stephanie Smith and even though I do not play rugby – I am married to a rugby player.  Jason and I met in 1993 at Gettysburg College after he had been playing rugby for 2 years for the Bullets.  He was in the ROTC program at school and upon graduation was accepted into the Army Aviation program at Fort Rucker, Alabama.  While he was in flight school in AL, he played for the Fort Rucker Flyers as 8-man and second row.  This was my first real introduction to the fraternity of rugby as we traveled all over the south to compete in matches and tournaments.  Our lab pup, Timber came to all the games to support the team and even escaped my grasp once to charge the field to get the ball.  Supporting Jason and those guys at their games and traveling to tournaments was incredible and we developed friendships then that have lasted us a lifetime.   After getting married in 1995, we moved to Germany where Jason began his career as an AH-64 pilot at Illesheim Army Airfield.  During our 4 years there, he served as the Captain of the Illesheim Black & Blue RFC.  They played high quality rugby against teams like the Georgia National Team and the Czeche National Team as well as other high-level German teams.  Each year we participated in the Amsterdam 7’s tournaments which were always amazing.  Playing against teams from other countries was an extraordinary experience.  Jason also had the honor of being elected to the Army Select side in 1997.  He saw action against the Coast Guard and Marine Corps that year as Army beat Navy in the finals to win their fifth straight  title.  He was selected again in 1998, although he wasn’t able to play due to a shoulder injury.Jason continued to play rugby in PA after returning home to the states with the Lehigh Valley Black & Blue until 2006 when we moved to Glastonbury, CT.  He joined the Connecticut Grey team shortly thereafter and has been with them ever since.Through the years, Jason and I have discovered that there is a camaraderie within the rugby community, much like in the Army.  In my experience, rugby players are committed and loyal, aggressive but kind, and supportive of their community.  The people we have befriended and the connections we have made are unlike any others.  The rugby family, we have inherited over the years has been wonderful to us and I am always happy to be a source of support and guidance for this amazing group of people. If I can be of assistance to you when looking for a new home or refinance, or if you have friends and family that need to connect with a loan officer they can trust, please contact me at 860-788-7237 or email me at Stephanie@northeast-mortgage.comCompany NMLS# 117273
