Career Opportunity | Real Estate

There’s been a lot of talk about real estate these last few years and the effect that the real estate market has had on the general economy. There have been some hard times for both buyers and sellers and, frankly, there have been those who have left the business of doing real estate because of the ups and downs since the recession.

So, that said, Is 2013 a great time to become a Realtor?

If you enjoy all of the qualities that makes a person a great Realtor and are thinking about real estate as a profession, then anytime is a great time to be a Realtor.

In the last few months, however, with both buyers and sellers reacting to the positive economic news, 2013 is turning out to be a great time to become a Realtor. Historically low mortgage rates are encouraging potential home buyers to jump into the market. Although home buyers have been wary about home purchases these last few years, they are starting to realize that today’s low rates are making it often cheaper to buy than to continue renting. For home sellers, the steady rebound in housing prices means that they can regain some lost equity in their homes. According to Core Logic’s latest home price index report, home prices in March 2013 were up 10.5% from March 2012. In some areas of the country, it’s up even more. The recovery means that home sellers can now walk away with some money in their pocket after the sale of their home, which means they can now turn around and purchase a new home.

The economy is turning around, the housing market is rebounding, and people are starting to have confidence in their ability to both sell and purchase homes again.
