Readers' Choice: City's Best Egg or Spring Rolls

Tell us about your favorite spot to pick up these crispy little gems in Middletown.

This week's Readers' Choice contest asks you to recommend the best place in Middletown to get the perfect egg or spring roll. Crispy on the outside and a perfect mix of crunchy and moist vegetables, shrimp, pork, chicken or tofu on the inside — what could be a better appetizer or snack?

Nominate your favorite place in the comments and by adding reviews to businesses in our Patch Places directory. It's simple: search under Places and enter the business name. Click on the business name, scroll to the bottom and click the number of stars at the bottom under "rate this business."

Don't just think of Chinese restaurants, either. Middletown has two Thai places on Main Street. Does Thai Gardens or Typhoon Restaurant make the best spring rolls?

This week, we'll decide the winner based on the number of nominations and reviews, as well as on the content of the comments.

Commenting will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and we'll announce the winner on Saturday morning.

For official rules, see here.

I enjoy the Great Wall on south main street. It's in the same square as Best cleaners. The people are always pleasant and service is always excellent. No matter what I order, I know that I'm getting top quality food. Egg rolls are just right and I think the General T'sao's chicken is the best around. Give it a try and the service is better than the fast food joints.

There I get my 'american' chinese also. Very nice people work there. Food is consistant and yummy. Me and my friends use to chuckle about how the lady would say "have nice nights". But then we figured that maybe shes talking about all of our nights and not just that particular night.. :-)

Typhoon! My husband I love the dumplings and spring rolls. We also love the BYOB policy and quirky owner who occassionally likes to give "speeches" during dinner!

perfect spring/egg roll in Middletown? hahahah. Since Debbie Wong left there isn't a place in Middletown that has anything close to a traditional Cantonese menu. most of the places in middletown you'll be lucky to get anything more than leftovers as a filling.

Ask Mayor Dan Drew he and Malloy are in China as we speak! Don't believe it? Call the Mayor's office!

Maybe he can bring some back? I hope he's taking pictures.

Not sure about Dan Drew, but Governor Malloy was in Berlin yesterday and has an event in Wallingford tomorrow. That would be a quick trip to China!
