Visions for Vacancies: Main Street Market

The closing of Tibetan Bazaar on Main Street opens up some prime retail space downtown. What do you envision will fit right in with the restaurants, jeweler, clothing stores, books and gift shops?

 

When closed recently in Main Street Market, it was so owners Tsering Yangzom and Sherab Gyaltsen could focus on their newest endeavor — , which opened late last year at 574 Main Street. The duo still operates in the Market.

This vacancy at 386 Main Street in the city's pedestrian walking mall opens up a prime spot for a new business or expansion.

Setting aside zoning regulations for the sake of this conversation, we'd like your input on what you envision for this spot — is there a cuisine you think isn't represented in Middletown or do you think the city lacks a specific vendor like a clothing, craft or beauty store?

Consider what's there already — the Hair Affair, Fusion Bakery, New England Emporium, Echo Trading, the Book Bower, It's Only Natural Restaurant and many others. What is missing?
