Middlesex Hospital, UnitedHealthCare Agree on Contract

The Middlesex Hospital President says he never lost faith in the ability for the two to negotiate an agreement that's mutually beneficial for all those involved.

 

has reached a contract agreement with UnitedHealthCare to continue as a participating provider.

“Reaching a mutually acceptable agreement with UnitedHealthcare was vitally important to Middlesex Hospital’s ability to maintain the kind of care that has resulted in our being recognized as one of the top hospitals in the country,” said Middlesex Hospital President and CEO, Vincent G. Capece Jr.

dated March 1, which read, in part, “Despite good faith efforts by both parties to negotiate a new contract,”  reads, “we have not yet reached an agreement to extend Middlesex Hospital’s participation in our network.”

This contract agreement means there will be no interruption in care for UnitedHealthCare members.

“Middlesex Hospital and UnitedHealthcare have a longstanding relationship founded on a commitment to delivering the highest quality, safest care to patients. This contract agreement will allow us to continue to provide the level of care our patients have come to expect from us,” Capece added.
