Accounting Firms Merge: Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski and Rick Morin & Associates

announces the merger of Rick Morin & Associates of Middletown and the appointment of CPA Rick Morin as GDS partner.

Morin has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, including over 15 years with the largest regional accounting and business consulting firm in Connecticut. Prior to joining GDS, he was a sole practitioner with an expanding practice in Middletown. 

His expertise is in taxation for individuals and small businesses including a specialty in estate, trust and gift tax. He has a wide range of experience in tax planning, compliance and consulting, as well succession planning, probate filings and estate settlement services. He has also helped to raise awareness of charitable planned giving and legacy planning opportunities in Middlesex County.

Morin is a member of several professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is serving as president of the Central Connecticut Business and Estate Planning Council. He is also an active member of the greater Middletown community.

He is on the Executive Board and serves ast reasurer of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce and St. Luke’s Eldercare Services as well as the Development Committee for Gilead Community Services, Inc. Morin is a member of Middlesex County Leave a Legacy Advisors and the Middlesex County United Way Audit Committee.

A resident of Portland, Morin holds a bachelor’s degree ina ccounting from Central Connecticut State University. He is married with two children.
