The Citizens Bank 5K Summer Fun Run that was held last week was a great success for the city and region and will sustain many of our local programs that benefit the community.

We thank Citizens Bank Vice President of Public Affairs Chris Riley and Mike Wyskiewicz for really stepping up to the plate for our community; not only do they continue to provide support to the 5K Road Race, the bank also chooses to sponsor events like our breakfast with Kemba Walker that stresses the importance of role models and mentors.

Citizens Bank Summer Fun Run 5K Committee Chairman Rob Holzberg should be praised because he organizes this event and is a driving force behind it. He is truly an example of a role model because he volunteers his time for this big event, which draws so many people to downtown Middletown.

Thanks goes to Paul Angelico, owner of Angelico’s Lakhouse Restaurant, for hosting what is always a great Business After Work July 19. We had nearly 250 Chamber members and their guests who enjoyed a great summer evening on the patio.

The Rare Reminder held a customer appreciation event last Wednesday in Rocky Hill that included a barbecue, refreshments, trivia contests and a tour of the press room and an advertising presentation.

The event was a multi-Chamber event and members of our Chamber along with the Rocky Hill, Newington and Wethersfield were invited. Jen Budaj of the Rare Reminder did a great job of coordinating this event.
