Turn Your Hair Pink to Support Breast Cancer Treatment

The Main Switch Beauty Salon in Middletown is joining 11 other hair styling businesses to raise funds for the Middlesex Hospital Comprehensive Breast Center.

On Tuesday, the Main Switch Beauty Salon on Washington Street in Middletown set up shop in the parking lot of Nardelli's Grinders — offering pink hair extensions and hair dyes as part of Middlesex Hospital's fourth annual monthlong breast cancer benefit goPink.

You can still stop by the city's biracial and black hair salon at 390 Washington Street to pick up a GoPink T-shirt and get a streak of pink in your hair to support breast cancer.

This fundraiser will be held during the month of October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to raise funds for the Middlesex Hospital Comprehensive Breast Center.

Throughout the month, individuals can receive pink hair extensions and purchase t-shirts for $20 each from local hair salons. For the first time this year, a number of other non-salon partners have come on board to help support goPINK. Twelve salons and 15 other businesses are participating this year.
