A flash flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Middlesex County through 4:15 p.m.
At 2:12 p.m., very heavy rain was reported from a line of thunderstorms extending from Cheshire to Durham moving southeast at 5 miles per hour, according to the NWS.
VERY HEAVY RAIN ...WITH RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO TWO AND ONE HALF INCHES AN HOUR ...IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS ...AND MINOR FLOODING OF POOR DRAINAGE AREAS. IN ADDITION ...FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING ...AND SMALL HAIL ARE EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS.
