Center Celebrates 20 Years of Helping Youth Succeed

Middletown's Youth Center has been serving children for 20 years!

The 309 South Main St., in the Wilcox Apartment Complex, provides programs for inner-city children and their families in Middletown that reinforce family values and enhance the children's potential.

Programs are designed to improve academic performance for about 30 students ages 6-12 and heighten social awareness and responsibility. The primary emphasis of the center is to provide tutoring and other activities which promote an interest in academic success. The center is open Tuesday to Thursday, 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. from September to June.

The center will be having its 20-year celebration at Oct. 6. Volunteers and donations would be truly apperciated. Drop by during our activity schedule to see how you can help or call Barbara at (860) 343-1650.

Please make checks payable to: I Have A Friend Youth Center, Inc. PO Box 651 Middletown, CT 06457.
