Sci-Fi Flick Shooting Final Scenes in Middletown

'Sensory Perception,' due for a fall release, studies a recovering drug addict with apocalyptic visions that flirt between hallucinations and reality.

The trippy '60s themed wayback shop where several of America's dark ride amusement park attractions have gone — not to retire in obscurity but to be lovingly refurbished and relaunched by former love child "Wild" Bill Ziegler — will be the setting for an indie film, Sensory Perception, wrapping up shooting Monday in Middletown.

Wild Bill's Nostalgia's Haunted House lot will be the bustling scene tonight with actors, crew and 100 locals pitching in on filming a sci-fi about at recovering drug addict and a synth-gen created soldier struggle to find their place in the world, and how to deal with visions of an apocalypse.

Filmmakers were in Cheshire over the weekend shooting scenes with retired wrestler Diamond Dallas Page.

The movie is written and directed by Alessandro Signore and executive produced by David Gere, owner of the nightclub in Middletown.

Sensory Perception was produced and filmed in Connecticut, primarily in Middletown, Waterbury, Cheshire, and surrounding areas. It is a  feature-length drama about Jeremy Jacobs, a "recovering" drug addict struggling to get his life back together.

Stalked by strange messages and shadowy figures, primarily “The Cognition,” he is persuaded to believe there is a way to avert this future disaster. While fighting through addiction, paranoia, and skepticism, he finds it difficult to convince anyone, even himself, that we can change.
