Jennifer Aniston To Star in Greenwich Movie Shoot

A movie set in 1970s Detroit will be filmed in the Chickahominy neighborhood of Greenwich in February, with the popular Two Door Restaurant as the backdrop.

According to independent location manager Michael Hartel, the Hamilton Avenue neighborhood will be used for one day—Feb. 11—for a bar fight that spills out of the Two Door, onto Hamilton Avenue where a character will be hit by a 1970s era car. Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins, Mos Def and Isla Fischer are cast in the independent film that is based upon the 1970s Elmore Leonard novel 'The Switch,' Hartel said.

The Greenwich Board of Selectmen approved the temporary closure of the street for the movie shoot as well as the rental of space at the Hamilton Avenue School for equipment. The shoot will occur during the Greenwich Public Schools' winter recess, officials said.

The movie will be shot in about 25 days in February at several other private Greenwich locations as well as some "gritty neighborhoods" of Stamford and in the waterfront neighborhood of Shippan, Hartel said.
