South Fire District Open House & Fire Safety Festival

Fun for the whole family!

This year's event includes: Vehicle extrication demonstration, Live burn demonstration, Antique fire trucks, Firefighter Equipment, Moon Bounces/Games, Spin Art & Sand Art, Connecticut Firefighters MAZE Training Trailer, 911 Simulator, USAR trucks, Hunters Ambulance/Choking Charlie, Food and Fun and MUCH MORE!, Antique Tractor

Also, there will be displays by: Office of the State Fire Marshal, Emergency Management (Mobile Hospital), Connecticut Urban Search and Rescue Team, Jackson Chevrolet (Chevy "Volt"), Dr. Piepers Veterinary Hospital, Dr Carta (Pediatric Dental), The Veterans association, Citizens Bank, and Home Depot. Middlesex Hospital will be holding a Flu Clinic. (Certain restrictions may apply.) Please visit them at their booth during the Open House for more information.

Additional parking is available in the lower parking lot at Xavier High School; look for signs directing you to the offsite parking. Free shuttle service is provided.

The Open House is held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 9 - 15, 2009. The theme of Fire Prevention week this year is: "Protect Your Family From Fire".
