Middletown, CT  - CT Improv Comedy troops come together for a monthly comedy series in Middletown. The Diversion along with The Middletown Commission of the Arts and The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts and Cultural Center are presenting a monthly comedy night on the first Friday of the month starting Friday October 5th.

"Having comedy in Middletown is just another draw to our great downtown." Say Quentin "Q" Phipps, executive director of the Middletown Downtown Business District.

The goal of these productions is to introduce Improvisational and freeform comedy to a wider audience while contributing to downtown Middletown’s sense of community and Arts.

"Live comedy just brings people together. There's a tremendous sense of community that comedy, especially improvised comedy brings to a room. It's a sense that anything could happen." Says The Diversion founder Christopher Polack.  The Benefits of laughter from a health stand point are well documented from increased breathing to lower blood pressure. "In these tough, economic times, laughter can truly be the best medicine." says Polack, who has been entertaining audiences for over a decade.
