"Middletown as Seaport" Talk

The triennial meeting of our local history and genealogy organization, the Society of Middletown First Settlers Descendants, will bring together members from within Connecticut and across the U.S. for research, visits to area cemeteries & archives, and networking. Two guest speakers on local history topics (Erik Hesselberg & Ronald Schatz) round out the information-packed weekend.

Featured this year is a presentation free to the public, “Middletown as a Seaport” by Erik Hesselberg, on Friday, Oct. 19, 1:45 p.m., at Russell Library in Middletown. A reception with refreshments welcoming interested Middletowners will be at 1:15 p.m. Erik Hesselberg is a longtime journalist and editor who is working on a book on Middletown’s seaport past.
