Currently the Greater Middletown Concert Association brings six performances annually (three concerts and three operas) to the 700-seat MHS Performing Arts Center in Middletown.                “There will be a lot of different volunteer opportunities for members along with musical moments such as home musicales, study groups and lectures,” recently commented Barbara Arafeh, president of the Greater Middletown Concert Association. She continued that meeting with visiting performing artists as well as members’ own social networking within the Guild would be important activities. The encouragement of children and young people in the community to appreciate varied concerts and to develop their own talents will also be an important part of the Guild’s endeavors. A Committee to continue recognition of the Middletown area’s contribution by its many Big Band Era musicians to the nation’s musical scene is also being considered. Some members may want to participate in promotional activities such as the Musical Gala/Auction planned for December 7th this year. For any further information call 860 347-4887.
