Great Reads: Book Discussion Series with Hedda Kopf

Hedda Kopf will lead a discussion of Old Filth by Jane Gardam on March 7. This captivating and memorable novel will introduce most readers to Gardam, a prolific and brilliant writer. Find out how “Filth” got his name, and follow him through a lifetime of successes and disappointments. For those who want more of Filth and his story, read The Man in the Wooden Hat, the companion novel that tells his life story through the eyes of his wife, Betty.

Future discussions in this series include The Queen of the Tambourine by Jane Gardam on April 11 and The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman on May 9.

Hedda Kopf is an adjunct associate professor of Women’s Studies at Quinnipiac University. She teaches literature and women's studies. She has created and facilitated book discussions for the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Southern Connecticut Library Council and has led book discussions at Russell Library since 1985.
