Freedom's Journey/Sing The Truth: Pioneering Women of CT

Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church, CT Freedom Trail site, in partnership with the 2012 International Festival of Arts & Ideas will host a Special Pre-Festival Event for

" Freedom's Journey/Sing The Truth: Pioneering Women of CT."

This special program will feature dance, music, photography, presentations by young people, and poetry honoring two CT African American women who fought for justice:the great contralto Marian Anderson and petitioner for freedom, Nancy Jackson.

Guest Poets: Bessy Reyna and Kate Rushin

Guest Dancer: Jennifer Newman (The Lion King)

Guest Director: Charlotte L. Braithwaite

Guest Vocalist: Yvette Early
