Connecticut Ballet to Stage Free Summer Dance at Middlesex

This year's Middletown program is Fabulous Duets for a Summer Day and features classical and contemporary works

Connecticut Ballet's third annual Summer Dance Caravan kicks off in style with the company’s appearance in Middletown on Sunday, July 21st at 2 p.m. at Middlesex Community College’s Chapman Hall, 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown.

This year’s program is Fabulous Duets for a Summer Day and features exciting classical and contemporary works performed by the company’s stellar professional dancers. 

The event is free to the public and suitable for audiences of all ages. The performance will be narrated by Artistic Director Brett Raphael.

Summer Dance Caravan local business sponsors are Price Chopper, Middletown Commission on the Arts, and Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts.

July 20 at 7:30 p.m., White Memorial Nature Preserve, Litchfield. Pre-show musical entertainment and picnicking at 6:30 p.m. 

July 26 at 7:30 p.m., Ives Concert Park, Danbury. Pre-show free ballroom class onstage with John Vitti, 6-7 p.m. Bring your dancing shoes!

July 27 (rain date: July 28) at 7:30 p.m., Riverfront Recapture, Hartford.
Opening act: Equilibrium Dance Theater (Jolet Creary, artistic director).
