VIDEO: Wadsworth-Kerste deBoer Arboretum Damaged by Irene

Middletown Patch offers a visual tour of probably the most affected area in Middletown, which is known as the Forest City for good reason.

Those who live in the Long Lane area of town were roused early Sunday — before Hurricane Irene even hit Middletown, or Connecticut for that matter — when a freakish squall hit the majestic Wadsworth-Kerste deBoer Arboretum at 5:30 a.m., toppling 25 of its 200 trees.

Middletown Patch stopped by Monday morning to survey the damage, noting downed electricity wires, the arrival of CL&P and busy Asplundh workers.
