Kids Break Out the Sleds at Foss Hill After Saturday's Snow

Wesleyan University was the place to be late this afternoon in Middletown, as many children eagerly hit the slope.

Middletown residents awoke Saturday morning to a wondrous site they suspected they may not see this winter: swiftly falling, light and fluffy snow.

is closed, all Prof Gallitto basketball games are off, and Middletown Parks and Recreation activities are cancelled today.

With temps in the teens, we're looking to get 3-5 inches by noontime; by 10:30 a.m., already nearly two inches had fallen in our part of the city.

By 4 p.m., there was close to 5 inches and more than a dozen kids had fun in the freezing cold sledding down Foss Hill on the Wesleyan campus. But you couldn't stay out for too long, evidenced here by more than a few rosy cheeks, as 20-degree temperatures took hold.

With everything that is advertised as being in our atmosphere, I'd be cautious about eating snow.
