Middletown's Russell Library to Present Plan on Organization's Future

The library recently completed a strategic plan for 2013-2017 and it will be discussing the results at a public meeting on May 28.

The Russell Library in Middletown needs to become a more active part of the community and have a better use of its interior space, a new five-year study on the library's future recently concluded.

Those are some of the results outlined in the library’s recently completed 2013-17 strategic plan, according to The Hartford Courant.

The newspaper reported Tuesday that the library — which had been seeking the public’s input since last year — had conducted the plan as part of an examination of how the library's goals and ambitions for the next five years. Patrons’ feedback on a number of issues, including collections, technology, computer use and parking, played a part.

The library’s Board of Directors will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, May 28 at 4 p.m. in the library annex to begin discussing ways to implement the plan, The Courant said.
