Tina McCarthy, Epidemiologist for the State Department of Public Health, is the guest on the next edition of the health-information radio program — Healthline. She will discuss Connecticut’s Healthy Homes Initiative.

The goal of the Healthy Homes Initiative is to promote health and well-being through a safe and healthy-home environment. 

This is accomplished by addressing physical, chemical, and toxic hazards in the home. Environmental health issues such as lead, mold, and radon can be prevented or remedied through a variety of ways including ventilation, humidity control, and cleanliness.  

Healthline is produced by the Middletown Health Department and can be heard Saturday, January 4 at 3:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. on WIHS 104.9 FM and every Sunday at 6:30 PM on WCNX 1710 AM as well as on demand at wcnxradio.com.
