Focus On: William Smith

Staff Sgt. William Smith, originally from Crescent City, Fla., and now a resident of Middlefield, works at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station on Main Street in Middletown.

I’ve been working here for two years.

What do you like best about working here?

My favorite part of the job is helping out young people.

Is this what you always dreamed of doing? 

My dream job was to be a soldier … so I fulfilled that dream.

What do you like most about Middletown?

I really like the small-town type atmosphere – particularly on Main Street right here.

Do you have a favorite place to eat in Middletown?

No, I really don’t.

If you were mayor of Middletown, what would be your first priority?

Snow removal … it really needs some work.
