Focus On: Barbara Stevens

Barbara Stevens, who grew up in Middletown and who now resides in Cromwell, greets H&R Block customers at their Main Street location in Middletown. Stevens was already feeling the tax season crunch on a busy weekday morning – but she managed to take a quick break and answer a few questions about her work and Middletown.
How long have you worked in Middletown?
I’ve been at H&R Block about two years. Before that, I worked at Comcast Cable for over 14 years.

What do you like best about working here?
The people I work with are great. But it’s a crazy day today … very busy time of the year for us. I actually get to still see all the people I used to work with at Comcast, so that’s nice.

Is this what you always dreamed of doing?
No, I always wanted to be a nurse.
What do you like most about Middletown?
I know where everything is.
Do you have a favorite place to eat in Middletown?
No, actually I really don’t.
If you were mayor of Middletown, what would be your first priority?
I honestly don’t know.
