Special Olympic Torch Run Will Temporarily Close Some Middletown Streets This Afternoon

25th Anniversary Special Olympics Torch Run in Middletown June 9th, starting at 12:31 and ending at 2:11pm.

The Middletown Police Department will be running in the Torch Run along side the Special Olympics Olympians.

The Torch Run will reach the Middletown line on Rt 66 (Washington St) at approximately 12:31pm. See the route the runners will take listed below:

Come out to support the Olympians and the Middletown Police Department. Today is going to be a hot day and the more people out cheering for them the more motivation they will get to run the 7.9 miles through Middletown.

They are still accepting donations on the website http://www.soct.org/torch/#donate

Streets will be shut down as the runners make their way through the route. The runners will reach the Cromwell town line on Newfield St at approximately 2:11pm
