Did Anyone Win Powerball Wednesday?

Someone in Connecticut matched five of the six lottery numbers, earning themselves a cool $1 million, so that means the pot will rise from $365 million to $475 million by Saturday's drawing.

Hey, it's not $365 million — but someone in Connecticut this morning is $1 million richer after matching five of the Powerball lottery's six numbers.

The winning numbers were 2, 11, 26, 34, 41 and a Powerball of 32. In all, 46,040 were sold in Connecticut, according to the lottery. That means Saturday's drawing has risen to $475 million, with an estimated cash value of $302.4 million.

The last Powerball jackpot winner in Connecticut was Noel Peel of Seymour, who won a $60 million jackpot in June 2012, according to NBC Connecticut.

If you think your chances to win in Middletown are infinitesimal, in March, Gregory and Glenda Hilt played Quick Pick with the lucky numbers 4, 9, 17, 22, 27 and 35 at Sunoco on Washington Street — taking home a $2,042,000 check.

For selling the jackpot winning ticket, Sunoco – A Plus, located at 519 Washington Street in Middletown, received a cool $10,000 bonus from the CT Lottery.

Powerball jackpots start at $40 million. Jackpots will increase at least $10 million between each draw and grow until they are won and a ticket is $2. Besides the jackpot, there are eight other ways to win. Powerball® is a multi-state game. Drawings are shown every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. on Fox CT- Channel 61 and WCCT-TV - Channel 20.
