Did Anyone Win Powerball Saturday?

The chances of winning the prize were astronomically low — each ticket had odds of 1 in 175.2 million.

Somewhere in Florida, a lucky Powerball winner is holding a piece of paper worth approximately $600 million.

Powerball's online site said Sunday that the jackpot had reached an estimated $590.5 million.

Prior to the May 18 drawing, lottery officials had predicted there would be a winner given 80 percent of the possible number combinations were in play. They were right. Not only did one ticket match the winning numbers of 10-13-14-22-52-11, but more than 7.5 million players won non-jackpot prizes totalling $83.9 million.

In Connecticut, one player won a $1 million prize by matching five numbers and 12 players matched four numbers plus the Powerball to win $10,000, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

The jackpot-winning ticket, however, was sold at a Publix in Zephyrhills, Fla. according to Fox News.

On May 15, John Durso of Middletown purchased his winning ticket at Mobil Mart on South Main Street, playing 30X Cash, and won $10,000.

The next Powerball drawing will be held Wednesday, May 22 at 11 p.m. The estimated cash value of the jackpot is $40 million. The jackpot for the Saturday, May 18 drawing was $600 million.
