Born to Be Wild: Motorcycle Mania Roars into Town

Thousands of choppers squeezed into every available spot of asphalt in downtown Middletown on Wednesday night.

Downtown Middletown was flooded with the growl of thousands of choppers piloted by Leather Boys — and Gals — making their way along Main Street Wednesday evening for the city's ever-popular Motorcycle Mania.

Bikers of all stripes, in well-worn leather jackets and black biker boots, some even in chaps, filed their bikes neatly in row after row of gleaming chrome and glossy painted trim as volunteers flagged them along quickly and evenly.

This eighth annual event, sponsored by Hunter’s Ambulance, Hunter Limousines, the Hunter Family and the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed two live bands playing along the cycle-filled north and south bound lanes from Union Street to Washington.
