Military Funeral Service Horse Needs Shelter!

Meet Melody, the Morgan horse who ranks as a Marine Corp sergeant major, E-9.  She serves veterans across the state in the riderless horse tribute program, where the boots of the fallen soldier ride backwards representing their last ride to their final resting place. Melody, with her Marine Corp Vietnam veteran owner Rick, tirelessly serves veterans across the state in funeral processions.  Now, she needs our help.

Melody's existing shelter recently collapsed and Rick, whose income mainly comes from Social Security, cannot fully afford a new barn/run-in.  A few of Rick's neighbors have banded together to find Melody temporary shelter for the winter and have started this campaign to raise funds for her new shelter.

Our goal is to raise $6000.00 for a new horse barn/run-in.  Any funds raised beyond the amount will be used to purchase horse bedding and food for Melody.

CATALES, INC, local cat rescue, is leading the charge for raising funds for Melody. PLEASE note that all funds raised on behalf of Melody through this campaign will be used only for the immediate needs of Melody, not for CATALES, Inc.

Please pass this on to family, friends, co-workers, and military and service personnel in your town.  Donations can be made through the following website: www.youcaring.com/melody
