Middletown Children Sought for Wesleyan Mentors

The North End Action Team Mentors is a program that pairs Wesleyan University students with kids living in the North End of Middletown, building one-on-one mentoring relationships.

The pairs meet on a weekly basis (according to their own schedules) for a minimum of one hour. They end up spending a lot of quality time together doing various fun activities within Middletown. Some of the things that matches do are play sports, watch concerts and sporting events at Wesleyan and go out for ice cream.

Every month all the mentor-mentee pairs come together for a group activity (such as hiking, baking, or soccer), fostering a group identity. Not only do mentees meet other Wesleyan students through these events, they also meet new friends around their age.
