Sen. Len Suzio, Taxpayers Rally to Lower Gas Tax 18 Cents a Gallon

About 50 taxpayers joined State Sen. Len Suzio on Monday to rally for a lower gas tax.

Suzio is continuing his push to lower the state’s gas tax by 18 cents this summer.

At the Gulf Express gas station on East Main Street in Meriden, Suzio called on Gov. Malloy and Democrat legislators to support his “2 for 2” plan, which will lower the gas tax to 2 percent for the 2 summer months.

“Hopefully we can get some Democrats on board,” Suzio said, noting that he had already has acquired Republican support for his plan “My goal is to make it a bipartisan deal for the good of the people.  We need relief at the pumps, and I won’t stop fighting for taxpayers.”

Suzio urged taxpayers to call their state legislators and Gov. Malloy this week to urge them to support his relief plan.
