Reader: Councilman Pessina is an Asset to Middletown

The city's former chief of police is now deputy chief of police at Southern Connecticut State University.

To the Editor:

Middletown Republican Common Council Minority Leader Philip J. Pessina was re-elected last Election Day.

In addition to being a councilman, he works for the Southern Connecticut State University Police Department, as deputy chief of police. Also, a long time ago, he worked for the Middletown Police Department as deputy chief of police (33 1/2 years of service with Middletown Police; retiring in February 2007). 

He works with other people on  the  common council as well. The council has meetings that are open to the public that people can go and speak during public comment.

There are also public safety commission meetings that people can go and speak as well. That meeting is held in the community room of the

Councilman Pessina is an asset to this city and I really mean it with all my heart. I thank him for his dedication and service to the people of Middletown, Connecticut.
