BOE Employee Arraigned on Sexual Assault Charges
Middletown Police say a special education teacher resigned prior to her arrest.
A former employee has been arrested on sexual assault charges, according to Middletown Police.
Christine Powell, 39, of 24 Dobson Circle, was arraigned in Middletown Superior Court today, according to Lt. Heather Desmond. She resigned prior to her arrest, in late 2011.
A joint statement issued by the Board of Education and Mayor Dan Drew says Dobson was picked up Feb. 10 at 6:30 p.m. and the arrest warrant is sealed.

She was a special education teacher, according to the Middletown Public Schools 2011-2012 student handbook.
Powell graduated last June with a College.
