PD: Man, 29, Girlfriend, 53, Argue Over His 'Crack-Head' Friends



report the following arrests:

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 4 at 3:11 a.m., Steven Freeman, 42, of no certain address was in a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend, Kasandra L. Denny, 29 of Stack Street. Police say he grabbed her by the throat and pushed her away but she wasn’t hurt. The report says Denny threatened him with a knife when he tried to leave the apartment during the knife. He wasn’t hurt but told officers he was afraid she would hurt him, according to the report. Both were arrested; Denny additionally for threatening.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On April 3 at 8:53 a.m., Johnny B. Wilds, 42, of Flower Street was driving on Liberty Street in a Cadillac with an outstanding warrant.

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 3 at 10:45 p.m., Justin R. Lee, 25 of Washington Street was brought in on an outstanding warrant by a bail bondsman.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On April 2, police were called to a Highland Avenue apartment for the sound of dishes and furniture being broken. Boyfriend and girlfriend Frederick Somma, 29, and Carmen M. Negron, 53, were inside with broken ceramic dishes and furniture on the floor, the report says. Negron told officers Somma had two people stay overnight without her permission and “she didn’t want any crack-head visitors staying there,” the report says. She said he disrespects and insults her and screams at her so she slapped Somma in the face and he choked her, police say. Somma said Negron wasn’t taking her antipsychotic medication and he didn’t choke her only restrained her to protect himself.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY, USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — On April 2 at 10:10 p.m., a woman said she let her son, Jason Bartone, 22, of Griswold Street, Glastonbury, borrow her car to go to Labor Ready for work after asking her for money. He asked for money; she refused and asked for her car back; she hit him with her purse, her son ran away with the purse, the report says. The mother gave a description and said he was a crack addict who might go to Evergreen Street, the report says. Other officers arrested him and he was found with a crack pipe, police say.

INSURANCE FAILS MINIUMUM, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE — On April 1 at 12:40 a.m., Tyrome E. Caster, 27 of Crowne Street, Meriden, was driving on Washington Street without working brake lights. Police say he pulled into the Wells Fargo Bank and admitted he had just bought the car.

TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — On April 1 at 12:58 p.m., Daniel Fusco, 41, of Redding Road, Redding, turned himself in on two outstanding warrants.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPEDED, POSSESSION LESS THAN HALF-OUNCE CANNABIS — On April 1, David Krywinski, 30, of Town Brooke Drive was driving a Toyotta Corolla near Long Lane and Santangelo Circle with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant. He was found with .7 grams of marijuana, the report says.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On March 28 at 2:26 p.m., Lindsey Sears, 21, of Killingworth Road, Higganum, was seen by Stop & Shop loss prevention on East Main Street take several items in a bag and leave without paying.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On March 27 at 7:29 p.m., police were called to Forest City Liquors on Main Street for a drunk person who smashed beer bottles. The owner said Tyrone Taylor, 33, of Silver Street had broken five boxes each with 12 Heineken beer bottles broken after the owner saw he was drunk and refused to sell beer to him, the report says. Fifteen minutes later, he came back, police say, and was again refused. He then broke the bottles, the report says; surveillance footage confirmed the story but police say Taylor had accidently stumbled into the bottles.

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — On March 23 at 12:19 p.m., police saw three men leaving Neon Deli at Vine and Church streets. One was breaking apart a cigar looking to create a “blunt,” police say. When they saw police, the report says, they ran and were later caught at Wesleyan University. All three said they had K2, synthetic marijuana, but none was found, police say. Arthur C. Flejszar, 18, of Juniper Hill Court, Cromwell, and Deshon LaFave, 18, of Lindsley Avenue, Meriden, were arrested for the above as was the minor.

BREACH OF PEACE, THREATENING — On March 22, Joseph C. Kowalski, 25, of Boston Turnpike, Bolton, was at the Citgo Gas Station on South Main Street when he met a man to talk about money issues and pulled out a knife and said to the victim he would “kill him. You’re dead,” according to the report. A witness confirmed the story, saying Kowalski told the victim he was going to cut him. He told police he thought he was going to be jumped so he pulled out the knife. He had buried the knife in the dirt and gave it to police, the report says.
