Middletown Blotter: July 12-24

The following information was provided by the Middletown Police Department's public information officer. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Middletown Police report the following arrests:

INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, RESISTING, BREACH OF PEACE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On July 24 at 1:39 p.m., Daryl K. Johnson, 48, of Ferry Street was arrested on Glynn Street after being interviewed by police about an assault reported by his roommate. The victim said he grabbed her by the neck, the report says, and wrist to take away her cell phone. The report says he ran from the officer across heavy traffic on South Main Street and tried to hit the officer with his fist said, "he would have to be shot in the head before being arrested." He was Tased four times in the lower back by police, the report says. He was found with an active warrant. During booking, Johnson admitted he and his roommate had had a problem earlier in the day.

FAILURE TO RENEW REGISTRATION,  OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On July 23, David W. Lintz, 54, of Cedar Street, Rockfall, was driving on South Main Street with no front plate and a cracked windshield.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER — On July 23 at 7:55 p.m., a woman walked into police headquarters to say her ex-husband, William G. Mignault, 48, of Butternut Street, with whom she shares custody of their son, had followed her in his car, called her cell phone and left several messages, all violations of their protective order.

TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, FAILURE TO RESPOND TO INFRACTION, SUSPENDED OPERATION, FAILURE TO WEAR SEATBELT — On July 22 at 12:09 p.m., Bennie A. Johnson, 44, of Stoneycrest Drive was driving a car on Newfield Street without wearing a seatbelt near the Cromwell town line. His plated was registered to someone in Stamford. The report says he admitted his license was suspended and police found three outstanding warrants from Norwalk.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE, OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On July 20, James M. Ahearn, 50, of Eddy Avenue, Meriden, was driving on High Street, a one-way street, nearly hitting a curb.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM,  OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO HAVE TAIL LAMPS — On July 20 at 10:20 p.m., Gyasi Seals, 37, of Congress Street, Manchester, was driving a Dodge Charger on deKoven Drive with no rear license plate light.

USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO SELL, AND LESS THAN HALF-OUNCE MARIJUANA — On July 20 at 9:15 p.m., Anthony Gonzales, 18, of Traverse Square was seen by police in the rear of Middletown Plaza on Washington Street with two juveniles, sitting in a no-loitering zone with cigar wrappers on the ground, the report says. On the ground, an officer found a bag with marijuana inside and some smaller packaged pot (10.2 grams total); Gonzales had a marijuana grinder in his pocket, police say.

IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE, OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE — On July 20, Ahmed F. Mannan, 21, of Freeman Road was driving a Honda CR-V on Washington Street with an old blue Connecticut plate. Mannan said the car belonged to his father.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE — On July 20 at 11:55 a.m., Deborah A. Pabst, 41, of Ann Street, Meriden, was driving a Chevy Prizm on Pearl Street with a plate that belonged on a Nissan Pathfinder.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE — On July 20, Wilhelmina M. Ludecke, 56, of Sand Hill Road, Durham, was driving on South Main Street with no front plate.

ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION, TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST — On July 19 at 9:06 a.m., Juan Estrella, 28, of South Colony Street, Meriden, was stopped by an officer while speeding on Industrial Park Road, doing 66 mph in a 35 mph zone.

SPEEDING — On July 19 at 9:42 a.m., Ryan Cornelius, 43, of Clift Street, Mystic, was driving 62 mph on Industrial Park Road in a 35 mph zone.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On July 17 at 3 a.m., police were pursuing two motorcycle thief suspects on foot near Westlake Drive and Russet Lane. A white minivan drove by, which matched the description of a van working with the thieves, the report says. It was driven by Jesus Baez, 38, of Middletown Ridge, who told police he was on his way to Guida's Dairy in New Britain to work.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED, IMPROPER HAND SIGNALING — On July 16 at 10:56 p.m., Dillon J. Hofher, 23, of South Main Street was driving on Loveland Street when an officer saw him change lanes without signaling.

TRAVELING UNREASONABLY FAST, DUI, FAILURE TO HAVE HEAD LAMPS — On July 16 at 10:53 p.m., Michael T. Barcomb, 38, of Grand Street was driving a Chevrolet Malibu on deKoven Drive at a high rate of speed in a 30mph zone and with only one head lamp, the report says. The officer smelled alcohol on Barcomb's breath and he allegedly admitted to drinking four beers. He failed a sobriety test, the report says and a breath test .177 and .159 blood alcohol content.

DUI, DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD — On July 14, Zachary J. Colonghi, 21, of Farm Hill Road was stopped by police at Washington and High streets with a cracked windshield. The officer said he smelled like alcohol and failed sobriety tests. A breath test registered .086 and .085, the report says.

NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL — On July 12 at 8:21 a.m., police were told that Nicole M. Carlone-Jackson, 34, of Daddario Road, of the Columbus House Emergency Shelter had an "illegal narcotics dealer" living with her. The staff person searched Carlone-Jackson and found two crack pipes with burnt residue and a metal spoon used for cooking heroin, the report says. Carlone-Jackson said they were her husband's, who is in jail, and she forgot about them. The report says the items were found by her bedside.
