Middletown Police announce the following arrests:

NARCOTICS  NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS, POSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE LESS THAN 4 OUNCES — On Jan. 30, Chase Guarino, 27, of Valley Ridge Drive, Higganum, was in a red pickup truck parked at the Irving Gas Station when 911 was called. The caller said three people inside were using drugs, police say. Guarino left the truck. The two passengers said they were waiting for a sister to leave work before going to a bar in Cromwell. Police say they did not have an adequate explanation as to why two Killingworth people and one Haddam person would pick this place to meet. A search revealed an uncapped pill bottle with 10 pills inside — Suboxone 8mg, Adderal (Oxmorphone 40mg) and Xanax 1mg. Guarino said his mom got them from a friend because he didn’t have health insurance.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On Jan. 30, William Gordone, 39, of Howard Avenue, New Haven, was driving a Nissan Maxima on South Main Street and turned onto Warwick Street without using a left turn signal.

SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On Jan. 29 at 8:15 a.m., Jasmine Hunter, 31, of Grand Street turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.

FIFTH-DEGREE LARCENY AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMITT LARCENY — On Jan. 22, Mary D. Ebron, 21, of Woodbury Circle was at Bob’s Store on a shoplifting complaint. Police say an employee had committed fraud over an extended period. Under surveillance, a person selected items and hid them at the service desk. Ebron arrived in the store, police say, and processed the employee’s items as returned. Three cash refunds, totaling $247, were made and the employee gave the money to Ebron, police say. The employee handed Ebron a shopping list of items which she acquired and returned through the service desk for cash, $611.79 in total. Ebron was arrested.

EVADING RESPONSIBILITY — On Jan. 28 at 1 p.m., Edith E. Fontanez, 35, of Silver Street, New Britain, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.

OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE LICENSE AND REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED — On Jan. 27, Karl L. Llewellyn, 31, of Birch Hill Road, Colchester, was driving a Nissan Maxima on Main Street. Llewellyn told police he was aware of the violations but was trying to “get his life back in order and needed to drive” to do so.

DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD WIPER, IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, FAILURE TO CARRY LICENSE — On Jan. 27, Angie Cruz, 31, of Elm Street was driving a Nissan Altima on William Street with a large crack on her windshield. She said her boyfriend bought the car from her brother and gave it to her.

IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, OPERATING UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, FAILURE TO DISPLAY PLATES — On Jan. 27, Laurie S. Waller, 56, of Lebanon Avenue, Colchester, was driving on Main Street without a front plate.

IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE, INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM,  OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE IN VIOLATION OF LICENSE CLASSIFICATION, OPERATING UNREGISTERED VEHICLE — On Jan. 27, Jermaine T. Williams, 32, of Maplewood Terrace was driving on William Street without a seatbelt. The plate did not belong on the car.

OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On Jan. 26, Frank A. Clegg Jr., 37, of Overlook Avenue, was driving a Toyota Corolla on Saybrook Road with an unluminated rear license plate.
